Just how long can someone stay dead here? Draco has been gone for over a week and he still hasn't come home.

[He sighs, running his fingers through his hair. It's worrying. Hisoka won't take it well if Draco doesn't return soon, and he doesn't know how much his sensitive partner can take.]

[Already regretting he put his thoughts in the journal, he changes the subject.]


Anyway. Welcome to town, new people. I'm Tsuzuki. If you need any help finding a place to stay, or just want to find a temple, I'm always around.

[In fact, if anyone is out to find him, they will be able to find him just where he'd sending the video from, the Tsukino Shrine. Later in the day he will take a walk in the woods to clear his head.]

How long do people usually, er, stay dead here?

Usually a week or so. I think.

Then he's a few days overdue, huh?

[He pauses. Would this be insensitive.]

How do folks here come back, when they do?

They look the same, except for.... well.

They have to give up something, to return.

Give up something? [Well that sounds ominous...] What do you mean?

My friends were murdered here. [And sometimes he still wakes up with the image of their bloodied remains in his mind.]

When they came back, one of them had sacrificed his voice and the other had given up something else. It's... It depends on the person that dies. But the deity in charge of the underworld needs to be paid.

... I'm sorry to hear about their loss.

Paying the deity, huh. That's not an unfamiliar concept.

....Thank you. They're home now, so they've forgotten.

[He keeps telling himself that's a good thing.]

Do you have something similar where you come from?

My world has hundreds of different cultures and thousands of different stories. I can't say for sure if any of them were actually true, but paying a price to some sort of deity is a common theme.

Hundreds? Wow.

I wonder what happens when you have nothing left to bargain with the deity with.

Well, it's a common concept that beings like devils and demons will ask for your soul in exchange for a granted wish.

[idealism]

Yeah, I remember that.

[Stupid demon and their painful possessions.]

[contaeoro]

... You got anything like that where you come from?

[idealism]

Yes. We take that kind of danger very seriously.


What about you?

[contaeoro]

I believe anything's possible, but I can't say for sure if things like that really exist.

Some folks take it seriously, but it depends on the culture or, in some cases, their religions.

[idealism]

Would you believe they existed if you saw them?

[contaeoro]

Seeing is believing. I wouldn't believe getting taken to places like this would have been possible, but here we are.

I hope we'll never have to see real demons here, to be honest. I'm just fine with them not existing here.

You got that right. I wouldn't want to see any of those roaming around, either.

Did your demons have horns and tails?

[contaeoro]

I've only seen those in illustrations. I believe they can take on any shape they want.

[idealism]

Back home they can possess people. So in a way they can take other people's shapes, too.

What do they do with that? Pranks?

[idealism]

I wish.
