[It had been a pretty sucky week. Tsuzuki doesn't want to show Hisoka the letters Yuri left for them when she was sent home. He suspects his partner is taking her disappearance hard enough as it is. But what is he supposed to do?]

[The answer is to pretend there's no problem. He taps his pen on the paper as he thinks, turning to the journal eventually.]

Out of curiosity, if you could only choose one word to describe your best friend, what would it be?

...I am not sure who I would describe as my 'best' friend.

Well... perhaps there are some that I would say I was closer to than others. Before I came here the answer would have been far easier. Now I have more friends and I value each of them highly.

I could choose many words as well. Kind. Helpful. Supportive. Confusing as well at times...

[Yes he fails at actually doing this probably.]

Why are they confusing?

All mortals are confusing to me.

Friends are no different. But if they do something that I do not understand, I learn from it. It is not necessarily a bad thing.

[Even if they're only communicating by sound, the smile in his voice is evident even without the video.]

How do they usually confuse you?

Stubborn. [Because they both know exactly who he's talking about.]

He's started talking to you again, right?

...you know I am still learning about human emotions and gestures. I had never hugged another before or spoken at length about love. I had never given gifts back to those who had offered things to me. There are holidays I knew nothing about as well - Valentine's Day and birthdays.

While I now have a better understanding of such things, I am still surprised by how they interact and even the extent of their creativity and technology. They are far more complicated than I first realised.

For the most part I think we're better off than usual, yeah.

Any other words you'd use?

...I'm glad you're here to experience it all. It makes me appreciate them more.

It does? [He seems genuinely surprised at that.] What do you mean by that?

I mean, when you've experienced traditions and holidays so often, you start to take them for granted. Seeing you experience them for the first time reminds me of how much I loved them as a kid.

Ah, of course. In that case I am glad that I might be able to encourage you to enjoy these traditions more. I know how important they are in most societies after all.

I have lived for so long, yet learned little of the people who live in the world I protect. It seems strange now... but as a being with no emotion and only one purpose in being alive, I was more concerned about the planet as a whole than the people who lived on it.

I am... glad I have found more to protect now.

I'm really glad for that, too. That makes you a good friend.

Hey, that reminds me. Isn't it time you come and visit? I want to show you where I live.

That's exactly what my partner would say. Are you related to Hisoka, by any chance?

I have no clue who this Hisoka is. But that makes me a little concerned if your own partner would describe you as thus.

Oh, you know. He's just mad because I set his library on fire.

It is... not something I feel towards humans particularly often. I am glad that it makes you happy however.

[He's not quite expecting the next suggestion either and hesitates a moment. He's still not used to being inside people's homes so the thought never really occurred to him to go and visit for friendship's sake.]

Ah, it had not crossed my mind. If you are sure I would not be intruding, I would not be opposed to the idea though.
