I've been wondering, what did most people do for a living back home? I've heard a lot of strange tales about jobs I didn't even know existed.

[If anyone's out and about, Tsuzuki is taking a well-deserved break by the big fountain. After spending the morning with his plants, he's now playing with the water.]

F.B.I.

It's an American police thing.

Oh, like the police officers on television?

I don't think I know what F.B.I. stand for.

Yeah. A lot like that.

Federal Bureau of Investigation. In the United States, each state and city runs its own police department, but the F.B.I. is the federal branch for kidnappings or things that cross state boundaries.

To be honest with you, I don't know a lot about America. I do know some things about investigating kidnappings, though.

Do you have a partner?

Yeah, I do! Although, not your typical kind. She's a forensic anthropologist. Only one there is.

An antropholowhat? Nevermind. Is she nice?

[So thrilled that he's not the only one tripped up by Squints' big scientific words.]

It means she studies bones.

And I'd be lying if I said yes, but I couldn't ask for a better partner. I wouldn't change her for anything. She's just not that great with people. She's getting better though.

Bones?

[It's a small relief that he's not the only one struggling with those titles. He laughs lightly.]

She sounds a little like my partner, then. He's not a people person, either. He's way too blunt.

Yup. That's even my nickname for her.

Hah, it must be a partner thing. She's ridiculously blunt. I think she purposely doesn't believe in tact.

Miss Bones?

It sounds like it! Mine prefers facts over tact, I think.

Just Bones.

Exactly the same! She's all about scientific evidence. She accidentally insults people without even realizing it.

Wow, that's uncanny. Maybe Bones and Hisoka are related.

Hisoka is your partner I take it?

Yes. I'm very lucky to have him.

Yeah.... I feel bad, because I know Bones can't handle all this too well, but I'm kind of glad she's here too.

Partners, you know how it is.

I know the feeling, yes. It can be hard to get used to this town.

How about this: if you and Bones have some free time, why don't you come over to 49 for tea? It might help her if she gets to talk with some people that's lived here for a while.

49? Ah yeah sure. Does it have to be tea though? It's so weak.

Well, I could make some coffee. If you were thinking of liquor we'll have to go to the bar, though.

Yeah! Coffee or liquor works great! Either one.

Sounds good! Does your partner drink?

Yup! We used to go after work and just share drinks. For awhile we switched to food so it'd be healthier, but old habits die hard I guess. How about your partner?

He's a lightweight. Judging from the last time he drank, I'm guessing he'd want to stick with water if we went to the bar.

Hah, yeah? That is pretty lightweight. Reminds me of Sweets, though he's gotten better at it. Marginally.

That's the name of our FBI profiler. He's a psychologist, but really young.
