Just how long can someone stay dead here? Draco has been gone for over a week and he still hasn't come home.

[He sighs, running his fingers through his hair. It's worrying. Hisoka won't take it well if Draco doesn't return soon, and he doesn't know how much his sensitive partner can take.]

[Already regretting he put his thoughts in the journal, he changes the subject.]

Anyway. Welcome to town, new people. I'm Tsuzuki. If you need any help finding a place to stay, or just want to find a temple, I'm always around.

[In fact, if anyone is out to find him, they will be able to find him just where he'd sending the video from, the Tsukino Shrine. Later in the day he will take a walk in the woods to clear his head.]

[Eley half-expected the flight, but when the paper seemed to transform into something so... real, so brilliant too, he couldn't help but watch wide-eyed with surprise as it flew away from them. He seemed almost entranced by it.]

...how can you do that? [He asks, as if thinking it impossible.]

[It looks real because it is real, in its own way. Tsuzuki puts a lot of work into his birds, and his pride grows when he sees that Eley enjoys it. The spell bird flies in a circle, coming back to see why they're not following it. Tsuzuki waves it back, and when it wants to sit down he allows it to rest on top of his head.]

My boss taught me. I... It was a long time ago.

[The bird tilt its head towards Eleytheria, and it becomes apparent it wants to check out if his head is a better place to build a nest.]

They made me feel less alone, when I was new.

[Eley watches as he calls the bird back... following its path until it's resting on the other man's head. If Eley knew how to define it, he might say that he found the sight... cute.]

Did you not get on very well with the others then? Or was it simply... part of the job?

[It takes Eley a moment to realise the bird seems particularly interested in him. He raises his hand to reach out and try to touch it... and hey if it wants to perch on his head he probably won't stop it~]

[The bird takes the move as encouragement, hopping onto Eley's fingers. It wants to get to know him better, its tiny claws holding onto his clothes as it climbs up his arm.]

I got on well with people. It's just that... well, my partners never stayed for long.

Partners? What... do you mean by that?

[Forgive him if he's not exactly looking at you right now Tsuzuki, he's a little preoccupied with the bird climbing up his arm. He seems fascinated by it actually... He never really got this close to the animals of his homeworld, though he did often help birds to migrate from afar.]

We work in pairs, so that there's no abuse of power. Everyone is assigned a partner that's there to keep an eye on you.

[The bird seems to thrive on the attention. It finds a safe spot on his shoulder, its tiny beak plucking at his clothes. Unlike other birds it is completely silent.]

The work wears people out quickly.

I see. Then you look out for one another, and maintain balance. It seems like an ideal way to work.

[Since the bird seems to be enjoying the attention, pulling at Eley's clothes a little with its beak, perhaps the Spirit will try to pet it now, reaching over and stroking its feathers gently. He seems to be growing quite fond of it...]

Then why did your partners leave so often? Because they were tired? Or because they did not get along with you?

A little bit of both. It's taxing work. And--

[He smiles wryly, looking away. The bird on Eley's shoulder pushes its head against his fingers.]

I've heard I'm not the easiest person to work with.

... [The way Tsuzuki turns away from him and smiles like that just seems to make the Spirit more interested in this whole affair. He lowers his hand away from the bird, paying more attention to the other man, much to the bird's disappointment.]

I do not see why. You have shown nothing but kindness to me so far. I might even go as far as to say that I would not mind working alongside you. Or at least attempting it.

[That's unexpectedly sweet. Tsuzuki ducks his head, suddenly feeling shy from all this kind words. The fuda bird dislikes the lack of attention, so it climbs up to Eley's head instead.]

....I think I'd like that. If the town ever needs help, maybe we should try it.

[Eley seems a little surprised at his sudden shyness. Did he say something wrong? Evidently not since he seems to be confirming his agreement with him. He nods.]

I would be willing to try.

[He's a little distracted however when the tiny bird climbs up onto his head. He looks up though he can't see it anyway, then reaches up to poke it a little.]

How long will this little one be with us?
