[It had been a pretty sucky week. Tsuzuki doesn't want to show Hisoka the letters Yuri left for them when she was sent home. He suspects his partner is taking her disappearance hard enough as it is. But what is he supposed to do?]

[The answer is to pretend there's no problem. He taps his pen on the paper as he thinks, turning to the journal eventually.]

Out of curiosity, if you could only choose one word to describe your best friend, what would it be?

Death can be a tough subject to talk about.

It happens. [He won't say anything about his best friend that died, since he still doesn't know how to deal with that.]

To my knowlege, she isn't dead yet.

I know, but when it happens it hurts. I hate when people die.

How old is she?

It does...but there are times to think about it.

...I never asked. She's much younger than me though.

But you're more than fifty, right? So she could be an adult and still be younger than you.

True. I would say she's technically a little older than me. At least not a teenager.

So.... She's like sixty? Or do you mean her body is older but she is younger?

She's human. She looks a little older than a teenager.

...Oh! Then I get it. I was starting to think it sounded a bit complicated.

It must be useful to have human friends.

I only have two.

They are...outside of the Empire. [Inside, they don't do quite so well.]

Where I live. There's a sun barrier so we can go out anytime. It's the only place where humans and vampires live so close together.

Does that work well? I mean, is it peaceful?

Mostly. At the time I left, it wasn't. A lot of bad things were happening.
