Fuda # 26 | [video] The cake is not a lie.

[The feed begins shakily, because Tsuzuki is trying to use it has a camcorder.]Be careful with him. He's still just a baby.

[Hisoka sounds exasperated, flipping a page in his book. Tsuzuki lifts his journal so he comes into focus: one of Hisoka's wings is clearly missing.] Tsuzuki, all cats land on their feet.

Are you sure? I mean, what if it's -

[Tsuzuki jumps out of his chair, putting his journal down briskly. From the camera's view, it looks like the world is turned upside down.] Poor Cake!

[The kitten is nowhere in sight. A confused mewling comes from beneath the couch. Why did the ground try to swallow him, humans? D:]

I wasn't doing anything much.

[Lightbulb moment. Link doesn't come from a world with cameras.]

I was just making sure that this thing recorded Cake.

[The journal? Link looks at it, a little confused.] Oh... how come? [Wriggling his fingers under the couch to lure Cake out. Heeeeere Cakey Cakey Cakey...]

He'll grow up before we know it, and I want to remember how he was like.

[That's not the wisest of moves, because all Cake thinks is OMG FINGERS. He jumps forward, realizing too late that the fingers is attached to a hand. The result is an awkward semi-claws extended smack that turns into claw-less swats instead.]

Hey Link, have you talked with Hijiri today?

[Kitten tackle! Link chuckles a little, wriggling his fingers more for Cake to play with.]

[And the question, he glances over curiously.] Not today. Why?

[Cake quickly pushes his chest to the ground, wriggling his behind while he calculates how to pounce properly. There's a very distinct purr coming from him, which will most likely scare prey animals away if he ever tried to hunt in the wild.]

He's been a little sad lately. I figured that playing with the cats might take his mind off of... you know.

Oh... yeah, it might. I think he should spend more time with Sheik, too. Neither of them should be all alone.

[Terrifying, Cake. Link's fingers still, only his index finger tapping around.]

I agree. But you know, I was thinking.... Maybe we could cheer them up somehow. Like a surprise party.

[He knows!! His humans are going to cower in terror once he grows up into a tiger. Still purring, Cake bounces forward, running a small circle around Link's finger until he backs up against Link's chest.]

A party? [Hmm. Hmmmm. Now that is a distinct possibility.] I don't think Sheik likes them much, but... [That idea he had when talking to Grune has risen again.] How about a picnic? I was talking to Grune and she said that I should meet her friends, so I said she should meet my friends, and we can do a big picnic together!

[Kitty get! The fearsome tiger is now going to be... snuggled.]

Does Grune have any ideas for what we can bring to the picnic? [Tsuzuki can't help but love the idea, though. He pictures a Halloween-themed picnic.] We should do it before it gets too cold out.

[Fearsome attack achieves what it was meant to do! Cake pushes his face up against Link's elbow, closing his eyes in blatant enjoyment as he gets snuggled.]

Uh huh - an end-of-summer one! Even though it's already autumn. [Just.] I think she likes fruits a lot. And pastries.

[D'awww Cake. He can have snuggles! And scritchies, too!]

Yes, exactly! We didn't have one last year. [Tsuzuki blinks, then grins widely.] Do you think she might want to try our homegrown ones? The apples are really good. I could even make an apple pie for her if she lets us taste.

[...He's not sure that's wise.] Maybe we can all make things? Hijiri is good at cooking, he can help too!

[Don't question his super leet cooking skills!] I really love that idea. I bet food tastes much better if it's everyone's labor of love.

[He taps his chin thoughtfully.] Will you help me find Hijiri? We need to plan with him, so we can surprise Grune.

[Well... maybe the cooking classes have helped...] Uh huh! Everyone can do it.

Okay. Where do you think he'll be?

((OOC: Want me to give Nami a poke?))

[They can hope, but it's not likely.]

Maybe he's at Azzip. Sheik's taken over the place, apparently.

[ooc: that would be lovely!]

[...Yeah, they're gonna need Hijiri's supervision.]

Uh huh, he has. He used to work there before. [Carefully, he gives Cake a few scritchies behind the ears - Foot likes that spot, maybe Cake will too?] When it's properly open, I'm going to work there, too! Just giving pizzas to people.

[Cake closes his eyes in really shameless pleasure. He can't help but knead his small claws into the nearest soft object, which is most likely Link's arm.] Really? I was hoping I could help them with the place somehow, too. Maybe I should simply try to grow some ingredients for them.

[That kind of hurts a little, Cake. Still, he doesn't stop the scritchies.]

That might be nice. We can start a proper vegetable garden.

((OOC: So, my arm is currently scratched up because my own kitten decided it would be great to knead... I blame your tag ;) ))

[The kitten waits until Link's hand is close to his face, before bumping his wet nose against the fingers. That's good scratching, do it again!]

I know, right? The garden's big enough. As long as we avoid the apple tree, I think we should try it.

[ooc: What, did she really. Clearly we have a psychic connection thing going on. XD]

[So demanding, kitty.]

[Naturally, he does it.]

Uh huh! And lots of other people grow vegetables, I think.

[He gives Cake another scritch, then glances at the stairs.] Should we go find Hijiri? Maybe he'd like to help with the garden, too.

((OOC: He did! ...Mind you, this is not an uncommon occurance, it just so happened that yesterday was warm enough that I wasn't wearing a hoodie and he was kneading bare skin XD;; ))

[He needs to be loved. Speaking of which, he makes a very pleased little purr, wiggling.]

Sure! I've been meaning to talk with him, anyhow.

[ooc: very cunning of your kitty, manipulating the weather like that until he could get to your vulnerable arms. c:]

Okay! It might be good to give him something to do, huh? [He stands (carefully, so as not to jostle Cake), and starts up the stairs.]

[Knock knock, Hijiri. Two housemates and a kitten to say hello.]

[There's silence for now as he's taking a nap.]

[Well, that's odd.]

Maybe he's not there.

[Tsuzuki opens the door with a tiny creak, peeking inside.]

[Link peers in as well, spotting the lump on the bed.] Oh... I think he's asleep.

[Note - making no attempt to be quiet.]

Should we wake him anyway?
