That's very convenient but why did they undress me in the first place? They could've have asked me to remove my shirt, I wouldn't have minded!

I'm from Meifu. Er, I mean, I'm Japanese.

I was born and raised there-- it's the only home I've ever known.

What is this Meifu like? Is it a kingdom as well, or is it a democracy?

Oh? Were you an only child, or did you have siblings?

Well, it is a section of a kingdom. It's very beautiful. Lots of ever--lasting cherry-trees. I didn't know it existed until I was 26.

As much as I would have liked a sibling, I was an only child.

Ever-lasting cherry trees? Those sound almost like the flowers on Lhant Hill. From what I've been told, they bloom all year round, even during the winter.

I hope you weren't lonely, growing up.

They sound similar! Was Lhant hill strange in any way?

No, not as long as I had books to read.

Strange? I don't believe so, but I only saw it for myself once. It looked just like a typical flower field to me-- the only notable thing about it was the giant tree on the cliff.

That sounds pretty. In Meifu the cherry trees grow in groves, not on cliffs.

Do I? I'll take that as a compliment, then.

The trees in my world normally grow in groves as well; this particular tree is a bit of an oddity in that sense, I suppose.

Say, are you familiar with electricity?

You mean that type of power the Malnosso recently gave us? Not beyond what I've read in a few books and my own experiences with the new appliances, no. Why do you ask?

Yes, that is what I meant. I am trying to figure out what your world was like. Mine began to use that power around.. fifty years ago? There are still cities that prefer not to use it, of course.

My world uses a type of stone known as criaths for power. The criaths store and channel arles-- it's the natural energy that sustains our world. With them, we can do things like power stoves and keep buildings cool even in the desert.

How wonderful. I don't think my world has something similar. Does your stones give people more strength, as well? Or long life?
