idealism | Fuda #42 [action/video]

[If anyone walks past house 25 today, they will notice that is looks dark and abandoned. On the front door, someone has nailed a piece of paper. It says:

Hisoka and I has moved to Community house 5, room 4 on the ground floor. Draco has gone home.

[The room number is underlined twice. He doesn't want anyone to come to the wrong part of the building by mistake.

There are too many goodbyes. After a while the body simply doesn't have enough energy to grieve for all of them, no matter how much it wants to. Tsuzuki doesn't know how to deal with it just yet, but he does know that he needs to at least pretend things are fine. That's why he takes his normal trip to the bakery and then to the temple during the rainy day. Rei is nowhere to be found at the temple, which is a huge red flag to him. She would have never left it without telling anyone. He does his best to make the temple stay clean and welcoming while he waits for her to come back.

When he goes to his new home, he makes sure to bring some real green and some snacks for Hisoka, as a way to try to cheer him up.]

Sorry about the mess. Do you want some help with the unpacking?

[Once he's hung his coat to dry, he opens his journal and presses the video function.]

I see we've gotten some more new people in town. How are you all settling in?

Come on now, that's no place to sleep.

[He picks their drowsy cat off of Hisoka's book, and it earns him a warning scratch. Cake has been sleeping perfectly well where he had been, and he doesn't like being disturbed by the two of them. Tsuzuki ignores it, scooting closer to Hisoka while he adjust so their cat can sleep on his lap instead.]

If you want some tea to go with that book, I can go make some.

I'll be fine. The kitchen's too far to trouble you.

No, it isn't.

[Besides, Hisoka deserves to know that someone cares that he's had some tough months.]

Have you been outside today?

No. What's so great about going outside?

[It's not worth leaving the house today, because of the rain. Usually it's different. Getting out, even for just a moment is better than letting the loneliness eat away at him. Tsuzuki rubs his shoulder.]

It's not good for you to hole up here all the time, that's all. I don't want you to feel lonely.

I'm not.

You're right here.

[Tsuzuki looks up in surprise, although his expression soon softens into affection. He appreciates it dearly when Hisoka admits things like that, because it makes him feel like their partnership has value.]

And I'm not going anywhere.

[He turns back to petting their cat.]

Do you want to come to the temple with me tomorrow? I could use the company.

Hino's still out of the enclosure? ["Kidnapped" is so harsh.]

She is. I haven't seen her for a while now.

I don't want her to have to come back to an unkempt shrine.

You're too thoughtful sometimes.

I think you would have done the same. Even if you don't like to admit it.

Well I guess you'll never find out.

I'm sure that if I was kidnapped and my garden was dying, you'd do something to help it.

That's different. You're attached to that thing.

[Tsuzuki ruffles his hair.]

To be honest, I don't know. It would be nice, but...

But what? You loved that garden.

I know. But... I'm not sure starting a new one is worth it.

I don't know. It's a lot of work. And it's less fun these days.

Why do you say that? Don't you love starting those projects over?

Sure. It keeps my mind off of other things.

But I miss the old gardens. What's the point of starting new ones if you never get to see how things grow?

It's a small enough village. Why can't you just walk over there?

I can't do that. It's someone else's garden now.

That's silly.

That's just how things are.

Anyway. Why are you so interested in whether or not I fix the garden?
